The United Nations celebrated the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, under the slogan "Paint the world orange 🟠
"End violence against women now."
The event, which was held virtually, on Wednesday, shed light on the global nature of violence against women and girls and recognition of the many challenges, especially related to the Corona pandemic and conflict situations.
Success stories were also celebrated and pioneering work being carried out despite the impact of the pandemic and often in highly complex humanitarian settings around the world, with the aim of showing that violence against women and girls can be prevented and promoting investment in proven solutions.
